Let nothing go to waste! Each product you order is made just for you. Instead of us purchasing bulk orders to save money like traditional shopping chains, we partner with a print-on-demand company which allows us to avoid waste from overproduction. When items are purchased in bulk, there’s a chance that they don’t get sold and most often get thrown out or burned. We are proud to be different and be a part of the sustainable fashion movement!
But what happens to the returned and damaged clothing?
Our print-on-demand company donates returned items to local charities and damaged clothing to animal shelters.
About our Print-On-Demand Partner
WHAT THEY DO // They source products for us to pick from and print, package and ship all orders. Some garments are cut and sewn and built in-house. All suppliers that they partner with have to sign an Anti-slavery or Forced labor certificate acknowledging that the supplier as well as it's subcontractors will comply with all applicable laws that prohibit slavery and human trafficking.
THE PEOPLE // Their employees are important to them. Everyone that works at the company receives paid time off, healthcare benefits, in-house libraries, training opportunities, and a safe and friendly work environment.
LOCATION // They have facilities all over the world. This allows your products to be made closest to where it will be shipped to which reduces carbon emissions and speeds up shipping. They recently opened a new facility in Ontario, Canada! This means that orders from Canada that include items that are stocked at the Ontario facility will be printed and shipped from Ontario! Please note that the Canadian facility isn't fully stocked with Blue North Co. items so your order may be fulfilled at one of the other facilities - most likely from the U.S.
SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT // Their focus is to protect the planet and create a positive environment for their people. They achieve this by:
- Using energy-efficient printers when possible which use less electricity, water and chemicals
- Eco-friendly printing
- Eco-friendly cleaning products
- LED lamps
- Recycle paper, plastics, batteries and electronics
- Most documents are all electronic to reduce paper
- Promote walking and cycling among their employees
